View of unidentified LMS 2-6-0 Stanier Mogul on an up local
service freight train leaving the goods yard with the yard seen in the
distance. The unusual feature of Hampton in Arden goods yard was the provision
of two trailing leads into the down main. As can be seen the locomotive is
leaving the yard by the connection nearest Birmingham whilst at the opposite
end of the goods train can be seen the other connection. This latter connection
was sited adjacent to the cattle dock and it might have been installed to allow
a train to leave the yard by this connection allowing another train to take
refuge in the siding in the position seen above.
