LMS Route: Birmingham New Street to Harborne

As seen in this photograph taken in the early 1960s shortly before closure the station remained virtually unaltered even to the extent of the trackwork. The timber on the platform is being used by the Chad Valley Toy company who have reroofed the parcel shed which originally had a curved roof. The footbridge which was used both by the railway as well as providing a through access to the local housing estates remains (and is thought to remain to this day). The wagons on the right are standard BR 10 foot steel mineral wagons.
