LMS Route: Birmingham New Street to Lichfield
Gravelly Hill: lnwrgh1486
Looking towards Sutton Coldfield in the late 1950s. It would
seem by the above photo that the trains calling at Gravelly Hill were in the
main quite short in length as the platform appears overgrown for most of its
length. Only where the passenger buildings are located at the far end the
platform does the platform appear to be the normal width whilst elsewhere grass
grows in front of the lampposts that once stood ate the rear of the platform
surface. Note too that whilst the lampposts are gas they are different to the
lamppost seen in image 'lnwrgh58c'.
