Foleshill Station: lnwrf132

Ex-LMS designed, but BR built, Ivatt 2MT 2-6-0 No 46446 at the head of an oil train near the passenger footbridge at Foleshill station circa 1956. Reg Kimber writes "Number 46445 and 46446 were possibly the only new locos allocated to Coventry shed in its entire history and consequently there was great excitement at school when they arrived".

Number 46446 was built at Crewe works in March 1949 and lasted in service until December 1966 when withdrawn from Shrewsbury shed being scrapped by J Cashmore of Newport in September 1967.
