LMS Route: Nuneaton to Coventry
Coundon Road: lnwrcr40
Looking towards Nuneaton. The trailing crossover was
installed at the Nuneaton end of the station to allow goods traffic departing
from Coundon Goods yard to access the line to Nuneaton. The level crossing and
the limitations of the low-lying ground towards Coventry limited the LNWR's
options for this location. It was not unusual for traffic to be kept waiting
for long periods of time as coal trains were marshalled through the
station.
