Ex-LMS 2-6-2T No 40152 stands on the down through road with a 57' brake van being employed to transfer luggage and parcels between platforms in the absence of no other means of transferring such items.

As can be seen the footbridge was retained for some time during the rebuilding of the station although the luggage/parcels bridge which was near by was demolished fairly early in the rebuilding. This was because the latter's lift area fouled the site of the parcels building.
