Looking from Stoney Road bridge towards Birmingham with part
of the old roof and columns still in place. The new platform 1 still retains
some of the old hard standing which was used in the construction of the
platform by providing a top dressing to match the other platforms. Even today
the up platform's facing/front of this part of the platform, can be seen to
include original 1880 brickwork. On the left can be seen a Brake Van with two 5
plank wagons holding the sand/gravel used to fill the new platforms prior to
the new hard standing being constructed.
