LMS stations and trains

One year earlier than image "lnwrcov606" the only difference being the absence of any signs directing passengers to the exit. The extensive use of advertising for engineering products rather than consumer products can be seen in the advertising "boxes" at the top of the columns. The Waters of Coventry advert by one of the exits promoted a long established alcoholic beverages company. A wonderful play on the family name.

Also seen on the platform are baskets on a trolley which probably contain pigeons. The railways played an important part in this hobby taking delivery of the birds, transporting them to a specified location somewhere in the country and releasing them all together at an agreed time. Mike Musson remembers this as a child with pigeons being released from his local station at Tile Hill in the late 1950s. 10th April 1953
