This close up of image "lnwrcov553" shows that the main station building served two purposes. The far side of the building was the entrance for passengers, note the more ornate door frame etc, with the side nearest to the reader being the station masters house. As can be seen by the windows on the right, the building was built on ground that sloped, and in this view, resulted in a two-storey structure with the top floor being at street level. The original access by road to the platform was via a driveway on the far side of the building.
