View of a Clerestory LNWR Parcels Van being loaded with a range of bicycles for dispatching via an express service. The bicycles are a mix of men's and women's bicycles and are protected by paper wrapped around the frame, seat and chain drive. This view of the inside of the parcels shed appears to be posed and was published by the Railway Gazette. From the condition of the interior it must be assumed that the building has just been opened. The luggage bridge is still evident above the parcels van and this dictates that the photograph was taken before the rebuilding of the station in 1901-4. C1890s
