This photograph shows the station in its pre-1901 condition. The luggage bridge just above the locomotive will be demolished as part of the extensions carried out in 1901-3. The near bridge is a footbridge and has been constructed since the photograph of 1880. This bridge remained in place until the rebuilding of the modern station in the early 1960s.
