Ex-LNER 2-6-2 V2 No 60961 is seen arriving at Coventry station's new platform 2 at the head of an up Cathedral special. Built as LNER No 3673 at Darlington works in December 1942 it was given the LNER No 961 as a result of the LNER's 1946 renumbering scheme and remained in service until April 1965 when it was withdrawn from York shed to be scrapped by Drapers Ltd of Sculcoates near Hull in July 1965.
