This close up of image 'lnwrcov243' whilst poor does show the station approach through Warwick Road bridge as would have been seen by the crew of a London or Leamington bound train. The bridge is believed to be the original 1838 structure and its position, together with the junction with the line to Leamington, was a major reason for the station being extremely cramped. Not until the modernisation of the station in 1960 which saw the bridge's removal to be replaced with a bridge spanning four roads and the four platforms would the station enjoy platforms sufficiently long enough to accommodate 14 coach trains.
