This is the entrance on the south side of the MR station somewhere near the junction of Hill St/Station St. The posters are advertising excursions to London for just 23s 3d (23 shillings and sixpence) For some reason (other than their respective cheapness) the fares always seemed to be priced in shillings and pence rather as in this case, one pound, two shillings and sixpence. In modern parlance "one pound and 12½ pence". The Newspaper Board headlines "Lighthouse Men in Fire Drama". 18th March 1954
