Ex-LNWR 3P 4-4-0 Precusor class No 5231 'Ganymede' is seen at the head of an up express as it approaches Berkswell station on 11th Aug 1928. Built by George Whale as LNWR No 2579 at Crewe works in December 1905 it was renumbered by the LMS in June 1927 and remained in service until February 1936 to be scrapped at Crewe works shortly afterwards.
