The photographer, DJ Norton, obviously had a very good
relationship with the signalman and station staff by being allowed to get so
close to the track. The tower on the left is believed to house a lift to the
down? platform. Access to the station was via steps from Lichfield Road and you
can just see, more clearly on the right, the sloping roofs to the stairs
leading up to both platforms. The bridge in the forground was re-built in
1906.
