4-6-0 Jubilee class No 45580 'Burma'

LMS 4-6-0 Jubilee class No 45580 'Burma' pilots an unidentified rebuilt Royal Scot on a down express near Rugby. Number 45580 was built by the North British Locomotive Co in October 1934 and lasted in service for just over 30 years being withdrawn from Newton Heath shed in December 1964 to be scrapped by TW Ward Ltd of Beighton in April 1965.

Steve Westen writes "This photo is taken at Cathiron (in the down direction) and shows the old crossing keepers cottage on the up side. Behind are Fog Cottages. The bridge in the distance (Br 9A) replaced the level crossing in between the keeper’s cottage and the wooden shed on the down side. The crossing keepers cottage has gone, but Fog Cottages remain.
