LMS Route: Rugby to Tamworth
Trent Valley Lineside: lnwr_tvl1222
LNWR 2-4-0 Precedent class No 5062 'Sir Alexander Cockburn',
built July 1896 and scrapped February 1932, double heads LNWR Claughton class
No 5967 'Lance Corporal JA Christie VC' on a down express north of Rugby.
Steve Weston, who works with Network Rail (and is also LNWR
Society Newsletter Editor) writes, "this was taken from Bridge 9B. On the left
are the Webb Standard railway cottages (Fog Cottages) the footbridge is Bridge
9A. Bridge 9B replaced an earlier level crossing which I believe went across
the bottom of the rear gardens of Fog Cottages. Footbridge 9A is still a
popular location for railway photography. C1928
