In this close up of image 'lnwr_pol1205' the main station building can be seen. The canopy was of a more flat construction rather than the standard LNWR design. The barrow crossing was often used by passengers rather than the passenger footbridge because it was much easier despite the increase in danger with expresses passing through at high speeds.
