This close up of image 'lnwr_oldmil1448' shows ex-MR 4F 0-6-0 No 3924 with a board displaying '23A'. It presumably has some relevance to the working although the writer cannot recall seeing it any other similar sign before. Number 3924 was built at Derby in circa 1920 and lasted in service until withdrawn from Bristol (Barrow Road) shed in June 1965. It escaped the scrapman's torch and was preserved at the Keighley & Worth Valley Railway.
