LMS Route: Trent Valley Line

An unidentified LNWR 2-4-0 'Small Jumbo' is seen at the head of a down local passenger train at Bulkington station circa 1910. Harry Jack writes when corecting the type of locomotive the photograph was initially described as, 'It's a pity the engine number and name can't be read (I've looked for possible engines with 3-digit numbers, but still can't identify it) but it isn't a Samson. It's one of the replacements of that class, the Waterloo or Whitworth class (the "Small Jumbos") built from 1889 to 1896.'
