LMS 5XP 4-6-0 Patriot class No 5511, before being named 'Isle of Man' is seen at the head of the up 'Rushworth's excursion to Radiolympia circa 1936. Built at Crewe works in August 1932 No 5511 remained in service until February 1961 when it was withdrawn from Upperby shed in Carlisle to be scrapped during March 1961 at Crewe works. Originally a notional rebuild of an LNWR Claughton No 5511 was one of the locomotives involved in the four-train crash at Kings Langley when it ran into the wreckage of of trains involving LMS No 1165 and LMS No 5946 on 13th March 1935.
