A general view of Butlers Lane station looking towards Lichfield. This was a relatively modern station having been opened by British Railways on 30th September 1957. Although built in the 1950s the appearance of the station had many similarities to earlier LNWR designs including the timber platform and buildings. Andy Lawton recalls that when he used the station daily from 1966 -1973 to travel to school it was with the booking office at the Birmingham end of the platform on the right'. Subsequently it was rebuilt during a brief closure in 1991-2. Photo John Alsop J1336 13/5/1966.
