This view shows the end of the railway station platforms, level crossing, signals, and staff at Atherstone prior to quadrupling of the line. As can be see, the original signal box was a more conventional structure to the one it was replaced by. The level crossing was replaced by a bridge and finally resolved the issue that the LNWR had with the county over the crossing being frequently closed and disrupting traffic. C1900s
