Ex-LMS 4-6-0 5XP Patriot class No 45515 'Caernavon' is seen at the head of an up express service near Atherstone on 15th August 1959. Re-built from a LNWR 4-6-0 Claughton class locomotive as LMS No 5515 by Crewe works in September 1932 No 45515 was named in January 1939 and remained in service until June 1962 when it was withdrawn from Newton Heath shed near Manchester to be scrapped during August 1962 by Crewe works.
