LMS Route: Rugby to Wolverhampton
Adderley Park Station: lnwr_add1483
Looking towards Coventry under Bordesley Green Road bridge
with the up platform on the left. The 'slow' down line connecting to the
extensive sidings can be seen on the right whilst the signal box that
controlled the station and access to the sidings on both sides of the tracks is
seen at the far end of the down platform.
The two signal arms are repeaters with the principle
signals being at the top of the tall post to aid sighting above the bridge for
express workings. The use of repeaters were common not least to aid locomotive
crews in bad or foggy weather when the arms at the top would be obscured.
