R Turtington's contract for the amount of coal to be delivered over a given period from 19th April 1940. The schedule states the cost relating of coal from the three collieries (Ansley, Binley and Newdigate) and the method of delivery by canal and by rail. A special 'War Clause' has been inserted relating to the impact of the war which effectively allows for increases and decreases in the cost relating to the charge of transportation. R Turlington was a local coal merchant.
