A 1950’s Ordnance Survey Map of Small Heath showing the original BSA Works and the GWR Main Line

A 1950’s Ordnance Survey Map of Small Heath showing the original BSA Works on the bottom left and on the other side of the Great Western Railway Main Line, the Waverley Works and (Singer) Motor Works. The private siding running on an embankment parallel to the river Cole can be seen serving these later Works. The three road exchange sidings referred to in the GWR Appendix to the Service Time Table instructions can be seen between the Great Western Railway Main Line and the Waverley Works. Note the short siding from the exchange sidings to a building on the left of the Waverley Works and referred to in the instructions as ‘leading to the BSA Shops’.
