The presence of heavy engineering works in the Birmingham
conurbation supplemented by quarries, cement works, power stations and gas
works meant that Warwickshire had a rich variety of industrial railways. Where
the available photographs and other material justifies it we have provided
separate sections for each such as the Edge Hill Light Railway, Foleshill
Railway and Cadbury's Railways. For all others we have grouped them together by
location on a general page. Should any one wish to expand this section by
contributing words or photographs then they would be most welcome. Please
forward your contribution or comments to info@warwickshirerailways.com. It is my practice to credit all
contributors within the relevant sections of the website.

The industrial railways of Warwickshire ranged from private
lines associated with industrial works such as Austin Works to quarries and
cement works such as Southam Cement. This meant that whilst many lines were
built to standard gauge others, mostly located at quarry or cement works, were
						narrow gauge.
