Schematic plan showing the configuration of the lines around the passenger station and the two sheds. The above arrangement shows that gap between No 1 and No 2 sheds was used for a 'Repairing Workshop' a description often confused with the three road 'Erecting Workshop' seen at the bottom and wrongly described here as the Repairing Workshop. Between the two sheds are two turntables, one allegedly 50 foot diameter and the other 60 foot diameter. According to Hawkins and Reeve in volume one of LMS Engine Sheds - The L&NWR when built the shed was equipped with two 40 foot diameter turntables and was only equipped with a 55 foot turntable (located to the left of the GC bridge) as part of the 1930s modernisation of Rugby's facilities. However when comparing image 'lnwrrm946' with image 'lnwrrm2529', the first being pre-1933 modernisation whilst the latter was post-modernisation, its clear that whilst the two are not the same turntable they are both on the otherside of the GC bridge to the sheds.
