GWR Route: Alcester to Hatton Junction

Looking towards Stratford Upon Avon in the late 1950s early 1960s. The 'station' has seen some changes since the 1930s, the removal of the oil lamp posts which were replaced by electric lights fixed to the wooden poles seen along the platform. The other more significant change was to the platform structure on the down (left) platform.

In image 'gwrww522' this structure was a pagoda shape whilst above its roof line is now curved. Close up examination appears to support the idea that the original pagoda shaped roof has been replaced with a curved one. This required the gap between the original straight topped side wall and the curved roof to be filled in, which it was but with a plainer sheet material than the original.
