GWR Route: Alcester to Hatton Junction
Wooten Wawen Platform: gwrww522
Looking towards Birmingham in the early 1930s with the
'station' being classified as a platform, the GWR's equivalent of a halt. The
only facility on the platform were two small waiting rooms both clad in
corrugated metal sheeting. The structure on the up platform appears to be a
little larger than the structure on the down platform.
In addition they are to two types of design, the larger unit
being a conventional sloping roof type whilst the other smaller unit appears to
be a GWR 'Pagoda'. As can be seen the platforms are well lit with oil lamp
posts, very important on unmanned stations.
