Looking towards Birmingham from the up platform towards the down platform with the headshunt of the spur siding on the left

Looking towards Birmingham from the up platform towards the down platform with the buffer stop for the twin spur sidings on the left. The spur sidings can be seen in image 'gwrw379a' and allowed the vans to be stored before being they were moved into one of two landing docks, the one above allowing the unloading of horseboxes or vans from side doors and the other, which is not recorded in any photograph but can be seen in the 1925 map, which accommodated both side and end-on access. The provision of an end-on access was to facilitate the loading or unloading of horsedrawn road vehicles in the 19th century.
