Close up of image 'gwrw379' showing the twin spur siding which was installed to facilitate the loading and unloading of horses and horse drawn road vehicles. A double slip, a space saving piece of pointwork has been installed to accommodate the need to provide access to all four short spurs and access to the main line. The existence of Warwick Racecourse would have provided substantial amounts of traffic during race meetings. Over the years this facility was reduced initially to just one spur (see image 'gwrw374a') and finally removed (see image 'gwrw389a').
