Close up of image 'gwrhg462' showing Hall Green's home starter signal silhouetted against the road bridge with a sighting board created by painting the brickwork white. Many of the starter signals on the North Warwickshire Railway's were aided by sighting boards, most by the simple practice of painting the brickwork on the abutment white. However some signals were too far from the structure to do this so the GWR provide a metal background to do this as seen at 'Bearley North Junction'. Close examination will show a second signal located between the two bridges which was an advanced starter for the next station. Nearly sixty years after construction the station is relatively little different although the the extensive floral displays have been removed and the station is looking a little tired. On the up platform to the left of the 'Gentlemen's sign is a 'white square' held by a vertical inverted tee from the canopy which was a later British Railways signalling device. Note the second signal on the down line between the two bridges.
