Looking towards Stratford upon Avon a view of the rear of a GWR 'Sighting Board' seen at Bearley North Junction starter signal in March 1949. Sighting Boards were used to help drivers see the arm of the signal in locations where structures located behind the signal could make their visibility difficult. In this instance the Edstone Aquaduct carrying the Stratford upon Avon canal over the North Warwickshire Line on the left and the branch line to Alcester on the right.
