E&WJR 0-6-0 No 11 looks resplendent when adjacent to coal stack at Stratford upon Avon shed. Dick Riley and Bill Simpson wrote in their caption of this photograph that 'engine must have worked the line from Blisworth to Banbury as it failed at Farthinghoe near Banbury with the Right Hand slide valve breaking. Unhappy driver Collins had two shillings deducted from his wages for a period of three weeks on the failing of this engine on August 27, 1912'. Built by Beyer Peacock in 1896, No 11 was categorised as a 'B' power rating and was to remain in service longer than most other E&WJR locomotives being renumbered by the LMS as No 2305 and then again in 1927 as No 2398 before being withdrawn and scrapped in July 1930.
