Ex-E&WJR 0-6-0ST No 1 built by Manning Wardle is seen at Stratford upon Avon near the SMJ General Manager's house. Built in 1866 it was used by Crampton & Sons to help build the East & West Junction Railway's line to Broom. In 1871 No 1 was hired by the East & West Junction Railway and passed into the ownership of the SMJ in 1908. The locomotive was sold on to the Shropshire & Montgomeryshire Light Railway in 1911 where it was renumbered as No 4 and given the name 'Morous'. Retaining this identity, the locomotive was sold in 1924 to the West Sussex Light Railway where it remained until it was withdrawn to be scrapped in 1936.
