LMS Route: Stratford Midland Junction - The Shakespeare Route

Ex-LMS 0-6-0 4F No 44043 is seen passing through Stratford on Avon station on a local pick up goods service. The tender is not the standard Fowler 3500 gallon design seen on many of the 4F locomotives being an earlier Johnson design notable with its flared top and coal rails. Built at LMS No 4043 at Derby works in February 1925 No 44043 was to remain in service until June 1965 when it was withdrawn from '16E' Kirkby-in-Ashfield shed to be scrapped during October 1965 by J Cashmore of Great Bridge.
