The 1956 Signal Diagram for Fenny Compton's joint LMS and GWR Signal Box with both stations in place

The 1956 Signal Diagram for Fenny Compton's joint LMS and GWR Signal Box with both stations in place. Comparison with the E&WJR layout of 1884 reveals several changes, mostly on the GWR, although the E&WJR yard has subsequently gained a siding, whilst a trap has been added on the up loop. The down GWR platform has been moved to the Leamington side of the crossing to reduce congestion in the yard, and a second connection, from the yard to the GWR down main, has been laid in. A very' short additional siding has been added, the up and down GWR cross over moved out, and a refuge loop laid in on the up side, opposite the new GWR platform. The signalling plan seen in image 'smjfc187' shows the radical changes effected in I960, when the up SMJ platform was swept away and a third loop added, the old exchange sidings and GWR yard replaced by a running junction, and the SMJ yard made accessible from the GWR as well as from the SMJ. Most remarkable of all, the connection in to the SMJ yard, instead of trailing, had become a facing lead.
