LMS Route: Birmingham New Street to Nuneaton

View along the island platform of Water Orton's second station with the up passenger line on the left and the down line on the right. On the right, and at higher level, is Water Orton's goods yard which had two sets of sidings handling both coal and agricultural products including cattle. On the extreme left, towing a brakevan, is an ex-MR 0-6-0 which is waiting to be released from the departure road on to the up goods line. On the right and standing on the down goods line is a ballast train working 'wrong direction' indicating that its probably a Sunday, a day used to undertake ballasting and other lineside engineering work.
