MR 0-6-0 No 2641, a member of the 1874 class, on the Hampton to Whitacre one-coach train

MR 0-6-0 No 2641, a member of the 1874 class, on the Hampton to Whitacre one-coach train. The single six-wheel coach comprised guard's and luggage compartment, both smoking and ordinary compartments for first and third class passengers. The train left Whitacre at 8.10am arriving at 8.25 am and was scheduled to return on the 8.40 am to arrive back at Whitacre at 8.55 am. The locomotive would then work either one or two goods services depending on the demand with the day's work on the branch being complete by 11.50 am, if one goods train was required, or 3.15 pm if both services were undertaken. The coaches on the left are standing in the carriage sidings which lay opposite the station on the up line. The branch line ran into the station's down platform along a re-aligned route necessitated by the opening in 1864 of the Birmingham to Nuneaton line.
