Close up of image 'mrwhg452' showing an unidentified ex-LMS 0-6-0 4F locomotive on banking duties moving forward to assist a train to Camp Hill if not beyond. Bob Essery recounts that a train proceeding to Camp Hill or beyond which wanted assistance would whistle as it passed the banker standing in the stub siding. This would be the signal for the banking locomotive to move forward, after the signalman had set the points, and run up to the rear of the train. It would then whistle to signal to the train locomotive that it was ready to assist at which both locomotives would start to work hard lifting the train to Camp Hill or Kings Heath.
