LMS Route: Birmingham New Street to Tamworth

Tamworth High Level Station: mrthl1108

Looking north towards Derby as the rebuilding of the new station takes place on 2nd June 1962. The scaffolding provides a temporary footbridge between the up and down High Level platforms whilst access to the Low Level platforms was still via steps between the two sets of platforms. The typical 1960s style of station architecture is evident in this view with both platforms showing flat roofs topping off the stairs between the two levels.
