LMS Route: Evesham to Birmingham

Studley & Astwood Bank Station: mrstud338a

Close up showing the access to the station was via the white painted gate to the right of the station

Close up of image 'mrstud338' showing the access to the station was via the white painted gate to the right of the station. The siding which ran through the goods shed stopped just short of the grounded body. It was standard practice that there be a short section of the line on the other side of a goods shed from the side which delivered the wagons. This was because it allowed the wagons queued up to be moved forward after being emptied, often by manpower, allowing others to move forward and replace them. To the right can be seen the signal box whilst above the access to the goods shed the gable wall shows signs that it had been rebuilt at some time in the past. The other side of the goods shed can be seen in image 'mrstud596a'.
