Trains from Walsall to Birmingham would normally stop at this platform, being on the through line, rather than the opposite platform on the island structure. Built at Derby works in February 1937 No 2482 was built to the same order, Lot 128, as fellow class mate No 42448 (seen in image 'mrspk341') and remained in service until April 1965 when it was withdrawn from Chester shed.
