LMS 8F 2-8-0 No 8402 is seen standing 'cold' in line with other engines on the stabling roads outside Saltley shed's No 3 roundhouse on 27th July 1947. Built by Swindon Works in July 1943 to the orders of the Railway Executive No 8402 remained in service for just short of 25 years when it was withdrawn in December 1967 from Heaton Mersey shed to be scrapped in March 1968 by TW Ward Ltd of Killamarsh.
