View looking towards Camp Hill showing the connection from the down line to the goods yard in June 1966. The line on the right running parallel to the main line is the siding which ran behind the down platform. It was in 1884 that the first siding was laid in the goods yard and from a trailing connection installed on the down line. This trailing connection was in addition to the trailing crossover already installed between the two platforms and the crossover under the bridge for Ballast Pit sidings. On the right is a single lever ground frame controlling access to both to the siding behind the down platform and, via another set of points and a crossover with the down line, to the up line. Both levers were unlocked by the signal box prior to use.
