A 1907 view of Hazelwell Station looking towards Kings Heath which was just under a mile away. Residents of Vicarage, Grove, and King's roads had first petitioned the Midland Railway in the mid-1890s to place a station between Lifford and Kings Heath. Initially the Midland Railway had stated that they were unable to help but by 1901 they had changed their mind. When it opened it was sited close to Pine Apple bridge being principally to cater for the new Priory housing development.
