Hazelwell Station: mrhaz835

Ex-LMS 4-6-0 'Black 5' No 44917 is seen 'setting back' in to the down refuge siding located on the Kings Heath end of Hazelwell station on 17th January 1954. The refuge siding could accommodate 44 wagons although Bob Essery believes that the train seen above has more than 44 wagons behind the tender. Its probable that the wagons are being stored for a short period in which case the brake (or guards van) will have been detached on the main line to be later returned to its depot.
